Notes for Jakob Ament
The remaining approximately 7,000 people, mostly the elderly, the unfit for work and the sick, as well as mothers with children under two years of age, had to spend Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday 1945, i.e. two days and two nights, on the streets and in the courtyards of their houses, before they were driven to the train station on Easter Monday and taken in freight wagons to the newly built Gakowa regional concentration camp.
During the loading into the wagons on April 2, 1945, three Filipowa residents were shot. Jakob Ament (born 1881) sneaked home to get the bare necessities. One of the Tito partisans noticed this and shot him immediately.
